The cost to ride the STAR bus is $2.00 per passenger per ride, for demand/response, $1.00 per passenger per ride, for fixed route.  Please note that the drivers cannot make change.  Please have the exact amount.  Any money over the $2.00 charge will be considered a donation to STAR transit.

A monthly pass may be purchased for $75.00, for demand response and $35.00 for fixed route.  Passes may be purchased at the STAR office at 1471 Dewar Drive Suite 247.

A book of 20 $1.00 tickets may be purchased for $20.00.  Tickets may be purchased at the STAR office at 1471 Dewar Drive Suite 247 OR at the Rock Springs Smith's Grocery service counter.

A punchcard worth 3 demand response rides or 6 fixed route rides may be purchased on any bus or at the STAR office at 1471 Dewar Drive Suite 247.

All resident senior citizens ride free (in zone one only)!  Any individual over 60 years of age is considered a senior.

Up to 2 children under 10 riding with an adult are free, each additional child is $.50 on fixed route and $1.00 on demand response.  Please see details on the How to Ride the STAR bus page of this website.

Passes may be available for low-income individuals riding the bus for purposes of nutrition, employment, or education if they meet the requirements and if funding is available.  Please contact the STAR office at 307-382-7827 or 307-875-7827 for more information.
